PwC’s Valuable 500 Commitment:
Striving for inclusion and diversity.
PwC has committed to the Valuable 500 at a global level but leaders of firms from around the world have signed up to the movement as a sign of support.
At PwC Netherlands, we strive for an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of their (work-related) challenges, feels empowered and encounters no barriers. Our Ability Network plays a crucial role in this by seeking practical solutions for colleagues with work-related challenges and raising awareness. We focus on possibilities rather than limitations and promote both physical and digital accessibility.
With initiatives such as the Awareness Session for new colleagues and sharing inspiring stories of role models around International Accessibility Day, we are actively committed to an inclusive workplace. Moreover, we are one of the first Dutch companies to voluntarily inquire about work-related challenges according to the UN definition.
PwC Netherlands is a proud member of the Valuable 500 and continues to commit to improving inclusivity and diversity within our organisation and beyond.
As an able person, I rarely realise how much of the world is built to accommodate only people that fit specific expectations. And how difficult work can be when you can’t, physically or mentally, meet those expectations. At PwC Netherlands we see the added value of inclusion. People who are different have a different perspective, which helps create unexpected solutions to complex problems. I hope that in the future more organisations realise that being different can be an asset. Provide people with practical solutions so they can do their job and let them know you appreciate them, and they will give you their best. And their best can be amazing.
