- Building an Equitable and Inclusive Workplace: Googlers with disabilities are making critical contributions across the company. We care deeply about making Google a place where everyone can learn, grow, and have an impact. From initial engagement throughout the entire Google journey, we are committed to building a workplace where Googlers with disabilities thrive.
- Focusing on Data Transparency: We were one of the first companies to publish a Diversity Annual Report, and each year since we endeavor to provide greater data transparency. Since 2019, we have been publishing data from employees who have chosen to self-identify as having a disability.
- Supporting our Communities: Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) have more than 250 chapters globally – providing community, personal and professional development opportunities for Googlers from all communities. Supporting Google’s Disability Alliance community, named the 2020 Employee Resource Group of the Year by Disability:IN, has been critical in our grassroots disability inclusion efforts. Our annual Accessibility and Disability Inclusion Week, hosted in the Fall, provides rich opportunities for community connection, company-wide education, and advocacy to advance our work in building for everyone and fostering a culture of belonging.
- Designing for Everyone: We’re proud of our dedicated teams and Googler volunteers that work on improving our products, programs, and internal workplace tools to ensure they are designed with the highest accessibility standards from beginning to end. For example, over 1,200 Accessibility Champions have completed training to raise awareness of accessible design, research, and engineering – helping to build a wider and stronger community of Googlers that evangelize and practice creating accessible products.

We are equally committed to building technology with and for people with disabilities, and making our products more accessible around the world:
- Developing for Accessibility: Making technology more accessible to over 1 billion people around the globe with disabilities, ensures that we can bridge gaps and deconstruct the barriers that exist in both physical and digital spaces. Google provides tools and resources to developers and publishers across platforms, so that they can build products and applications with accessibility in mind from the very beginning of their development process.
- Building for Everyone: Google is investing heavily in building products that work for all users with diverse backgrounds across the globe—and we’ll continue to work hard to get this right. We build our products with equity in mind from the start, working with over 2,000 Googlers as inclusion champions to regularly provide feedback and lend their perspectives as products are built. By constantly testing, researching, and training our technical Googlers on inclusive product design, we’re able to ensure they reflect our users universally.
- Supporting Research: Google’s support of accessibility extends beyond products to include research, education, and design efforts. We actively promote an accessible web by serving on standards and advisory committees, support academic research that has the potential to directly impact the lives of people with disabilities globally, and aim to continually improve the accessibility of our products by working with communities through programs like our Accessibility Trusted Tester program.
