We will strive to build a society in which each and every person can stay self-reliant while supporting each other in a way that allows each person to have just the right sense of distance so that, in addition to the so-called vulnerable members of society, those who are at a disadvantage either temporarily or for an extended period of time due to ageing, illness, childbirth, menstruation or other factors can spend their lives in the way they so wish regardless of the situation.
Initiatives of Unicharm
We would like to introduce one of our most recent initiatives aimed at the concept of “cohesive society = social inclusion”. As a countermeasure to address the spread of COVID-19, it is no longer possible for all of us to spend our daily life without face mask, however, on the other hand, for those who have supplemented their hearing with “lip reading”, the mask has hindered their communication. Going forward, even when COVID-19 is contained, it is undeniable that the new type of viral disease may spread again in the current world where the global traffic of people has become the norm and we believe there is a high possibility that the wearing of mask for prevention of virus will become established. In light of such circumstances, we have launched a new type of “face mask that firmly contains droplets while allowing face-to-face visibility for not interfering with communication”. Through these initiatives, we will aim at achieving the sustainable growth by causing a series of innovations that will contribute to the realization of “cohesive society = social inclusion” while prompting the SDGs.
