That’s why we’re working really hard to support every colleague to be themselves and better serve our customers and communities. Towards this, we’ve set goals in line with Census data to ensure that we reflect and the full diversity of our communities, with all company and senior leaders to be 47% female, 14% ethnic minority, 15% disability, 3% LGBTQ+ and 3% ex-service by 2030 (2022 milestones: 30% female, 13% ethnic minority, 4% disability, 3% LGBTQ+ and 3% ex-service). Alongside this, we’re also making access to opportunities fairer as well as creating a culture that promotes and values difference.

Key to achieving these goals and growing inclusion of colleagues with disabilities, is ensuring that disability is on our board agenda. As is our Diverse-Ability Network, which works closely with colleagues and leaders, to improve the working environment for those with disabilities and differing abilities with the ultimate aim of making Centrica a place where having a disability doesn’t hold you back, where talking about what support you need is encouraged and promoted, and where you can bring your whole self to work and thrive.
