Voi’s Valuable 500 Commitment:

Inclusive Micromobility
Voi is proud to lead the industry in the implementation and deployment of micromobility in a responsible way that will support more positive outcomes for all.

Above all, we commit to consider and work to address the needs of all people in the local community, regardless of ability or disability, age, and other access needs, where we deploy urban micromobility transport services. We will continue to proactively work with local communities, councils, special interest groups and others to make sure that micromobility is disability-inclusive whilst working to reduce pollution and congestion. This will ensure a more positive and equitable impact is created across the community.

Broad community engagement
We know that it is imperative that we listen to all, every step of the way. We regularly engage with pan-disability groups and the broader community to understand changing perspectives, concerns and needs. We ensure a range of views are gathered, so we can work to find solutions which we co-create and test with different communities. Our work impacts riders (6+ million across Europe) and non-riders and we must develop these solutions with empathy and educate those who use our service to be respectful to others.

Collaborate to develop inclusive product and service design
It is important to collaborate with local authorities to provide a clear and easy to understand service whilst educating and influencing riders on responsible behaviour. We design our service to complement public transport where possible and also seek to work with digital and connected technologies to support vulnerable pedestrians knowing where e-scooters are (in use or parked), improving accessibility for all.

When we develop new devices, we start by engaging with thousands of riders and non-riders to help ensure appropriate design. Voi has held two inclusive design ‘hackathons’ to hear the challenges and hurdles that vulnerable people and those with disabilities face when it comes to transport. This and further inclusive design training for Voi staff has improved our understanding, recognising how physical, sensory or cognitive differences can be considered and accommodated in our designs.

Innovate to create future cities that are better for everyone
Voi strives to integrate with digital platforms that facilitate and encourage multimodal journeys; we now have 50+ integrations in operation and are working hard to increase this, to improve transport accessibility for all. The information shared on these platforms is done so in an open format, where it can support greater ease of multi-model planning and journey management.
