West Ham United’s Valuable 500 Commitment:

The Club has aspirations to be an equity leader, by ensuring we keep listening to staff, fans and the industry, always reflecting on our approach to equality, diversity and inclusion, and going further than we already do. All of our policies and procedures are written and applied so that they are accessible to everyone, irrespective of whether a person’s disability is visible or invisible.

The Club has a mental health strategy which includes having Mental Health First Aiders, mental health awareness training for all staff, as well as an Employee Assistance Programme and all staff have access to a mental health app.

We also carry out ‘awareness walks’ as part of induction for anyone with a disability, so that any possible issues are highlighted so they can be altered or removed.

As an employer we aim to build on the numbers of those already working for us, across all staff teams, who have a disability.

Additionally, the Club has a dedicated Disability Supporters Board, which provides an open, transparent and ongoing dialogue between the Club and the disabled fanbase at the highest level. This is hugely successful and the relationship between the Club and its disabled fanbase continues to grow.
