Founded in 2020 by social entrepreneur Misaki Tanaka, SOLIT is a Japan-based design solution company that provides a one-stop-shop for everything companies need to address their diversity and inclusion challenges. With a vision for an all-inclusive future that leaves no one behind, their work encompasses developing business strategies, designing accessible products and services, as well as inclusion-focused PR and communications.
SOLIT also own their own in-house fashion brand. The brand aims to be a champion of diversity by allowing people to choose their own designs, dimensions, and cuts. This enables customers to choose clothing that meets their needs, inclusive of size, shape, and disability. The brand celebrates inclusivity, empowering individuals to feel confident to express themselves in their own unique way.
SOLIT at Vancouver Fashion Week:
In April, SOLIT will be doing their part to dismantle the status quo in the fashion industry, by presenting a show at the prestigious Vancouver Fashion Week.
They plan to showcase their lines on models with diverse backgrounds and disabilities, to really demonstrate the importance of inclusive representation on the runway and in broader society.
Growing up, I remember being unable to choose the clothes I wanted to wear, partly due to my body type and financial constraints. I had no option but very limited choices that were available to me. It felt as if hope for self-expression slipped out of my fingers. […] We at SOLIT, Inc. strive to help make this world come to life. Our main goal at Vancouver Fashion Week F/W 24 is not sales-oriented, but rather to connect with our allies who share and believe in the same values as we do, working to make our shared dream a reality. Fashion shouldn’t cause anyone harm. Rather, it should be the solution for our future.
